Great post, Flossie! Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. I love the mummy story. I love many monsters-erm-but Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is one of my favorite. Dorian Gray is another one.
ReplyDeleteHalloween was an innocent time when I was a kid. My mother always allowed the rambunctious boys to soap up her restaurant windows for fun. Frankenstein is a good one, and I saw Dorian Gray again not long ago--what a compelling story.
DeleteLove this post; especially the cute video. Halloween wasn't a holiday that was encouraged when I was growing up due to an overly religious mother. However, Raymond Massey was the perfect actor in The Mummy and other horror movies. My favorite was The Wolfman with Lon Chaney. I also liked the remake of The Wolfman with Guillermo Del Torro. It was a real hair raiser. This is a fun post. I hope you get lots of comments.
ReplyDeleteThat video was fun to make.I'm glad you enjoyed it. Raymond Massey was a versatile actor for sure. I love the first Wolfman, especially the gypsy part. You and my son both love werewolf movies! His favorite, as you might guess, is American Werewolf in London. There was also a Jack Nicholson one that I found chilling.
DeleteMonsters scare me. Literally. I have to be careful what I watch, but, I did love the Mummy remake with Brendan Fraser. When I read anything by Stephen King it has to be during daylight hours and even then sometimes I have to put it down to calm myself.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, Linda. I recall trying to watch The Walking Dead late one night--- not a good idea. Brendan Fraser had enough action and humor in his Mummy to take the edge off.
DeleteI’m not big on spooky but I like Vampires. I loved the movie Van Helsing but Dorian Grey was awesome too
